Homework Expectations:
Homework will be distributed on Mondays and collected the following Monday. This gives students a week to work at their own pace. Homework will generally come in the form of a packet, and will include math, phonics and reading. Your child is responsible for reading about 15-20 minutes each day. If your child is not reading on their own yet, this time can be spent reading with you. Research shows that spending 20 minutes a day reading is critical in developing brains, improving listening skills, fosters quality relationships and is a critical component in building early literacy skills. Plus, it's fun!
Homework accounts for 5% of your child's grade for each subject.
